What are Ecumenical Aesthetics? - The Whole Church Podcast

What are Ecumenical Aesthetics?

To kick off our new series, Ecumenical Aesthetics, our hosts, Joshua Noel and TJ (Tiberius Juan) Blackwell, answer some of the questions we plan to ask all of our guests for themselves. We plan to show the diversity in worship through art in various Church traditions throughout this series and to show how art can help bring us all closer together in Christian Unity.

What sense of beauty have we witnessed in creation? How can an experience with art be spiritual? Can it be healing to perceive beauty? Who are our favorite artists? How does the Church use art? What is ecumenical work? What is aesthetic theology? What types of art can we all experience that might bring us closer to God and one another?

In this episode we will:

  • Introduce our new series
  • Discuss art and moments of beauty that were meaningful to us
  • Explore how beauty can be healing
  • Examine ways that art could help bring us closer to each other and God

Offering Plate

We may not be huge fans of the pressure that goes along with a literal offering plate, but we do hope you will consider giving to our ministry so we can afford to continue our work to educate and unite the Church!
We haven’t had any Tips yet :( Maybe you could be the first!
