Can Spiritual Practices be both political and unifying?

Kaitlyn Schiess joins our hosts, Joshua Noel and TJ (Tiberius Juan) Blackwell, to discuss her newest book, "The Ballot and the Bible: How Scripture Has Been Used and Abused in American Politics and Where We Go from Here"!

If you're feeling frustrated and discouraged because your efforts to foster Church unity and navigate political divisions seem to be causing more division and polarization, then you are not alone! Many Church members are struggling to find effective strategies amidst the growing partisanship and ideological differences.

In this episode, you will be able to:

  • Navigate through the fascinating blend of faith and politics and its influence on current discussions.
  • Discover the power of devout living and its role in shaping just societies.
  • Hear powerful tales of personal faith transformations and their ripple effects.
  • Realize the significance of Scriptural texts and history in shaping political dialogues.
  • Uncover methods to unify Church communities despite diverging political opinions.

My special guest is Kaitlyn Schiess

Introducing Kaitlyn Schiess, an esteemed author and podcaster who navigates the challenging junction of faith and politic with profound perceptiveness and finesse. Kaitlyn had an early introduction to Christianity due to her mom's engagement with local churches. This exposure influenced her values and eventually led her to study at Liberty University. Kaitlyn's college years were steeped in intense political activity, an experience that helped her reflect on her faith and life's path. Continuing her academic journey, she attended Dallas Theological Seminary and currently studies at Duke University. Her robust academic background and commitment to dissecting knotty issues equip her well to navigate the landscape of Church unity and politics.

We may not be huge fans of the pressure that goes along with a literal offering plate, but we do hope you will consider giving to our ministry so we can afford to continue our work to educate and unite the Church!
